If you get lost, don't worry: that's the point!
Discover Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhoods. Roam through the windy streets of Mouraria, the multicultural birthplace of Fado, and explore the homely, sunny Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest quarter. Catch the smell of grilled sardines, have some homemade ginjinha, haggle at the flea market, and lose yourself in the charms of the old city.
Alfama is the oldest and most emblematic neighborhood in the historical centre of Lisbon, one that will take you back in time. Alfama is like an islamic medina: a small village inside a big city, made up of tiny squares, narrow cobblestone streets, churches in every corner, and white-washed houses decorated with pretty tiles. On the way there we will pass by Mouraria (the old moorish quarter), the castle’s hillside and the Cathedral of Lisbon. We will visit various miradouros: vantage points from which you can get amazing views of the city. If you come with us on tuesdays or saturdays, you can end your tour by wandering around the flea market, the centuries-old Feira da Ladra.
